is an information and news site for the telecom industry.
It was a challenge to come up with a theme for this site and I turned once again to Andy's Art Attack (www.andyart.com). I hadn't had his CD for very long at the time and I thought I could do something once again with one of his interfaces. The remote control on the right comes directly from his CD. I used bits of those images to create the video screen on the left. Using frames and background images underneath the buttons I was able to make this page fill up any screen no matter what size. I was inspired by Jeffery Zeldman's 15 Minutes site.
Originally the main frame used the green screen background. This made it blend into the other frames. But it also made it too hard to read so it was removed.
The site was originally geared towards the Y2K bug. It allowed the owners of phone or voice mail systems to find the Y2K compliance level of their equipment.
It has since been changed to a static one-page site. The owner hasn't had the time to maintain it like he wanted to.
This is one design, though I know it is graphically obese, might be fun to re-use again somewhere else if the right situation develops.
